While the concept of daycare rarely brings about images of seniors, adult daycare is a program that is available to many seniors. It is a program that can offer assistance to seniors who want to age in place as well as families who are providing at home care for their elderly loved ones. Here are some things to consider about adult daycare.

It is Affordable

Adult daycare is a very affordable option for seniors. Many programs are sponsored by the community or the state which helps to reduce the costs even further.

Transportation is Rarely an Issue

Many seniors who require this type of care are no longer able to get around themselves. This is not an issue for most adult daycare centers. A majority of them offer transportation services that will assist seniors in getting to and from the program. It those are not available for your program there are also many subsidized senior transportation services that can get the job done independent of the daycare.

There are Multiple Kinds of Day Care

The levels of care that are provided can vary greatly depending on the needs of the people in attendance.  Some even specialize in dementia or Alzheimer’s victims. Others are merely places for seniors to meet and socialize with others of their age group to help them to remain active. Some investigation should reveal the right level of care and attendance that you need.
