As the summer colors fade sometimes we forget how beautiful the fall and winter can be as well. Adding some of those colors to our homes are how we bring some of that beauty indoors as we spend less time outside. Why not help your elderly loved ones, who may be less able to get out and do it themselves, decorate their homes with festive decorations for fall and winter colors to spruce up their living space.

Yellows, Oranges and Browns for Fall

As children we’ve all traced and colored leaves for fall. That’s why the reds, oranges and yellows tend to evoke the feeling of fall in all of us. Help your loved one decorate where they live with these same fall colors. Gourds, pumpkins and other large fall fruits can be easily turned into vases that hold fall flowers. Making a wreath out of leaves and pine cones to hang on a door can also spruce up a living space by adding color and texture to a wall or door.

Festive Decorations for the Holidays

As fall turns into winter, take time to spruce up your loved ones space with festive decorations. Lights, pine trees, wreaths and hung greetings all add color and life to what might be a rather dreary winter space.  Take your loved one out to pick some fresh pine wreaths. It can add not only color but a lovely smell to their home.
