As the holidays approach things tend to get busy for us. Trying to balance all of the holiday activities going on, preparing for gatherings and still maintaining a work schedule can be difficult. In the midst of all of that you may have elderly loved ones who are aging in place or are in some level of residential care. Spending some of that time with elderly loved ones can be the best holiday gift they receive.

Include them in Activities

Does your elderly loved one like to take walks? It can be challenging to find a place to do that during the colder winter weather. Why not bring them along to the mall while you are shopping for Christmas? Sure it might take a little more patience than just going alone. It may help you enjoy the shopping more if you slow down and take time to enjoy the season yourself.

Baking or Cooking Together

Do you have a loved one who likes to cook? Living in an assisted living facility means less opportunity to cook than they may have had in the past. Why not let them join in the fun of baking cookies or pies. Cooking is always a great way to spend time with elderly relatives. Having an extra hand in the kitchen while preparing a holiday meal can also be a help to you as well.

These are just a couple of the activities that you could do during the holidays to spend extra time with elderly loved ones. For any legal assistance they might need, trust Stano Law group to help!
