The holiday season is quickly approaching. You may have loved ones that are in long term care facilities. Buying for seniors is hard enough, but if they are in a long term care facility that could be made even more difficult. Here are some ideas of things that you could get your elderly loved one for the holidays.
Consumables
When in a long term care facility getting around can be difficult. Many seniors have no way to get simple things like bath soaps, lotions or even basic toiletries that can make their lives more full. Giving a gift like this can help them feel like they are at home with the creature comforts that they were used to having.
Pictures
One of the best things to give is memories. What better way to do this than by giving framed pictures. Help them to decorate their room with memories from their life or things that they had done with you. A digital frame that changes the picture can be a great way to give several pictures at once if space is limited.
New Clothing
Gifts of clothing are always welcome by residents of care facilities. Often wardrobes are limited by space and so there are not many choices of things to wear. Having some new clothes to wear can feel great after spending some time in a long term care facility.
