The herbicide called Agent Orange was used during the Vietnam War to destroy foliage the enemy used for cover. After the war, Veterans experienced health issues that were attributed to exposure to the herbicide. Agent Orange was also presumed to be a contributing factor in some disabilities suffered by certain Veterans who were exposed.

The Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) offers benefits for Vietnam War Veterans who were exposed to Agent Orange. Veterans exposed to Agent Orange may qualify for health care benefits and an Agent Orange Registry health exam.
