Once the memory is significantly affected, estate planning becomes a much more complicated and expensive matter to handle.

So what should you look for when hiring an estate planning professional? Below are ten questions you should ask any attorney you consider hiring:

What are your qualifications?
Do you have affiliation with any annuities?
Do you have affiliation with any life insurance companies?
Do you have certification in estate planning, trust or probate laws?
Do you offer living trust kits? (Remember, trusts are NOT one-size fits all)
What percentage of your practice is devoted to nursing home planning?
How many new nursing home planning cases do you handle per month?
Are you a member of any elder law planning organizations?
Are you involved with any committees or bar organizations?
Do you offer nursing home planning classes or lectures?
